The Process
No-Cost Consultation
You introduce us to your story and we discuss your goals for the project. We make sure we have what we need to provide you an informed estimate regarding costs, project specifications, and turnaround time, which we aim to send within 24 hours.
Once we agree on the plan, we schedule our first interview!
Interviews
We meet - whether remotely or in person - for the first of what will likely be multiple interviews. OurGlass brings a list of questions and prompts to help structure the conversation, but we try not to get in the way of a good story.
The number of interviews and length of each interview will vary based on the story we’re telling.
Please allow for added time and cost if you’d like more than the book’s primary subject(s) interviewed in-depth. But rest assured it can be done.
Writing & Photo Collection
Based on our interview transcripts, we draft your story. OurGlass does not use AI language models. We write every word with the goal of preserving the unique voice of the book’s subject(s).
The draft is returned with a list of suggested photos that correspond to different life events highlighted in the book. Of course, you are in charge of which photos you’d like to include, and while we are working on the draft of your story, we suggest starting to think about and locating those you’d like in the finished product.
Review & Revisions
You review our work and provide feedback and requested edits, which we incorporate into an updated draft.
Once you’ve approved the text of the story and provided us the photos you’d like, we move forward with the design process.
Layout
We format the book to its finished aesthetic, incorporating the photos along with the text. The book is professionally proofread, then returned to you for one last look.
You make sure everything is to your liking, and we send your story to the presses!
